Network

Through this interconnected network, we are able to co-design solutions, scale up impact, and foster a shared commitment to ecological integrity and community wellbeing.

About

Oikos East Africa believes that lasting change is only possible through strong, strategic partnerships. We work closely with a diverse network of stakeholders to ensure our interventions are aligned with national priorities, community needs, and global sustainability goals. Thus we operate through a collaborative framework to strengthen impact and ensure sustainability.

Oikos International Alliance

Since 1999 Oikos East Africa has been part of the Oikos International Alliance (OIA), a dynamic and informal network, initiated and coordinated by Istituto Oikos ETS, a non-profit organization that acts as the promoter and driving force behind the Alliance. The OIA brings together non-profit associations, international NGOs, and social enterprises that share a profound commitment to preserving ecosystems and promoting sustainable development. Rooted in a strong foundation of scientific research, the Alliance unites diverse organizations dedicated to addressing critical environmental challenges. While operating both in Italy and across the globe, OIA members work collaboratively toward innovative solutions that drive positive change in local communities and international arenas.

Government

We collaborate with Tanzanian government bodies at national, regional, and local levels. OEA works with local district councils (e.g. Arusha, Meru, Monduli, Longido Same and Mwanga) and national bodies and agencies like Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) to align with national policies and ensure long term community led management.
